Fall Orientation Information
Congratulations and welcome to all of our incoming students! Please look over the following information to
ensure you are prepared for your orientation to the University of Washington
School of Nursing.
A mandatory orientation for the 2008-09 school year will be held
for all BSN, MN, MS, Graduate Certificate, DNP and PhD students
on Monday, September 22nd and Tuesday, September 23rd.
Please click on your path of study to view information you will need to know
prior to the above orientation dates. Other programs will be added to this list
as their information becomes available.
| Important Notes
- We would love to hear your feedback on how the School of Nursing orientation went for you - just
fill out our brief survey to
help us improve future orientations!
- If you anticipate a name or mailing address change before you begin at the School of Nursing,
please ensure that both the University of Washington and the School of Nursing receive
this information. Changing this information only in MyUW does not automatically update records at the
Schoolof Nursing.
- HIPAA training is required for all incoming nursing students. If
you have completed this training at a UW-affiliated site (UWMC, Harborview, MultiCare, VA Puget Sound),
please let Jenn Hixson know as soon as possible so a
duplicate account is not created for you.
For students who have not yet completed the training, HIPAA account information is included in your
orientation packet or is available through this link. Students who have
completed the training through the VA should either bring confirmation of that training or sign
and return the VA HIPAA Waiver Form.
