Center for Excellence in Nursing Education

(aka Learning Lab)

The UW School of Nursing Center for Excellence in Nursing Education (CENE) is a state of the art learning resource center serving faculty, undergraduate students, and graduate students. It includes print and practice materials for the performance of nursing health care therapeutics, specialized high-tech equipment commonly utilized in acute care settings, and interactive video disc (IVD) programs and video recording and playback equipment.

The CENE provides Simulation learning experiences with the aid of the Human Patient Simulator, Sim Man, Vita Sim and procedure taskers.

The CENE is located in T621/627 of the Health Sciences Teaching Wing. It is available for structured small group instruction and practice during regular week day hours. Students may use the Center for self-tutorial, practice sessions with other students, or practice with a TA or faculty. To assure CENE availability, email CENE staff.
