BSN Curriculum
The BSN curriculum has ten goals
and is designed as a four year (180 credit) program: two years
of prerequisite course work in general studies prior to two
years of professional course work within the nursing major.
The final two years of course work are completed on the University
of Washington Seattle campus and at clinical sites throughout
the state.
Students need a minimum of 180 credits to graduate with a bachelor's
degree from the University of Washington. As of Summer 2008 the required credits
in the nursing curriculum total 91; thus 89 credits must be
earned through general education, nursing prerequisite courses,
and elective courses (for students who started the program prior to 2008, the credits in the curriculum total 90). Students may opt to earn over 180 credits,
including NMETH
499: Undergraduate Research/Independent Study, where students
pursue independent scholarly inquiry on a specific nursing problem
under supervision of a faculty sponsor.
