All Students: The Basics - Safety

Do not walk alone at dusk or after dark. ALWAYS use campus escorts by calling UW CARES at 885-WALK.

IN CASE OF AN EARTHQUAKE: DROP, COVER, and HOLD. Once the shaking stops, take your valuables and leave the building. Do not plan to return for the rest of the day. Do not return to the building until you have received an all-clear from somebody "official", the Web, or e-mail. Call 547-INFO or check the UW home page for updates on UW and building status. If the building is closed for longer than one day and an alternate location has been found for this class, it will be communicated by the instructor via e-mail to all students.

IN CASE OF A FIRE ALARM: Take your valuables and leave the building. Plan to return to class once the alarm has stopped.

IF YOU ARE OFF CAMPUS: You are likely to be off campus at other agencies as part of clinical course requirements. You are responsible for learning agency policies in the case of natural disaster and fire.

FOR MORE INFORMATION: Visit the Safe Campus Office web site.
