Goals

Our department will:

Actively promote what is best for each other,
Create strategies for open access to opportunities,
Provide tools and a nurturing environment to enable each person to excel and be recognized for such achievement,
Recruit and increase retention of a diverse group of students, staff, and faculty,
Promote a departmental philosophy that fosters respect across rank,
Assist students in adjusting and adapting to PCH, the School of Nursing, and the broader university community and culture,
Provide educational experiences and promote personal growth through activities that consistently recognize the importance of difference,
Express through attitude and action mutual respect, tolerance, and an appreciation of differences in an effort to advance cross-cultural understanding,
Adapt to the changing needs of the PCH community by using a strategic and creative approach in addressing diversity issues or concerns,
Educate diverse leaders for a compassionate global community
