FCN: Practice Clinics
- Parenting
Clinic - The UW Parenting Clinic was developed in
1983 to assist families with highly aggressive young children.
The clinic offers family treatment for children with behavior
problems. Dr. Carolyn Webster-Stratton, a licensed child
psychologist and Professor of nursing, directs the program.
An interdisciplinary team composed of nurses, psychologists,
social workers and teachers provide services. These professionals
specialize in assessing and treating families and young
children. Research is an important component of the clinic,
which is a project funded by the National Institute of Nursing
Research, at the National Institutes of Health. Ongoing
research includes: evaluation of group and individual treatment
and approaches with parents and their "difficult" children.
